Broken Sprinkler Line Repair Near Me โ Treasure Valley
A broken underground sprinkler line is one of those problems that usually makes itself obvious โ a soggy section of yard that never dries out, a zone running at low pressure, or water pooling near the backflow when the system isn't even on. Left alone, it gets worse. Water damage, dead spots from uneven coverage, and higher water bills are all common results of an unrepaired line break.
We've been finding and fixing broken sprinkler lines across Nampa, Boise, Meridian, and the rest of the Treasure Valley since 2015. We use pressure testing to isolate the zone and narrow down the break location before we dig, which means a targeted fix instead of tearing up your whole yard.
"Had a main line blow out in the backyard. Called Beeline and they were out the next morning. Found the break fast, fixed it in a couple hours. System pressure was back to normal before they left."
How We Find a Broken Line
The tricky part of a broken underground line is knowing where exactly it broke. We start with a pressure test to isolate the affected zone and confirm there's a leak. From there we can usually narrow the break to a section of pipe, which lets us dig one hole instead of ten. Once we've exposed the break we cut it out, replace the damaged section with quality pipe and fittings, and pressure test again before we backfill.
Most breaks happen at fittings, elbows, or tees โ places where the pipe was stressed over time or hit by frost heave. Older systems with poly pipe that's dried out and cracked are also common in Caldwell, Kuna, and older neighborhoods across Boise and Nampa.
Signs You Have a Broken Sprinkler Line
- Soft, soggy, or muddy area of the yard that doesn't dry out between watering cycles
- One zone running at noticeably lower pressure than the others
- Water pooling near the backflow preventer or meter when the system isn't running
- Dead or dry strips next to a wet section โ loss of coverage downstream from the break
- Water bill noticeably higher than normal
- Zone that runs but doesn't appear to water the yard effectively
Main Line vs. Lateral Line Breaks
There are two types of underground line breaks we deal with. A lateral line break is within a specific zone โ the pipe that runs from the valve out to the sprinkler heads. These are generally easier to isolate because only one zone is affected. A main line break is in the pipe that feeds water to all your valves, which usually shows up as water leaking even when no zones are active.
Both are fixable. Main line breaks sometimes involve more excavation depending on depth and location, but the repair itself is straightforward once the break is exposed. We've repaired both types all across Meridian, Eagle, Star, and Middleton.
"My yard started flooding on one side and I had no idea what it was. Turned out to be a broken irrigation line under the lawn. Beeline found it with a pressure test, fixed it same day. Really happy with the service."
What the Repair Includes
- Pressure test to isolate the leak and identify affected zone
- Targeted excavation โ we dig where the break is, not everywhere
- Remove damaged pipe and fittings, replace with quality components
- Post-repair pressure test to confirm the fix
- Backfill and basic restoration of the excavated area
