Sprinkler Turn On Service — Treasure Valley, Idaho
Beeline has been doing spring sprinkler startups across the Treasure Valley since 2015. When homeowners search for "sprinkler turn on near me" in Nampa, Boise, or Meridian, we are the team that shows up on time, opens the system the right way, and tells you exactly what condition your irrigation is in before the season starts.
We are a family owned company. When you call us, you are talking to the people who actually do the work. We know how the pressure irrigation systems in Nampa and Boise work, when the canal districts come online in Caldwell and Middleton, and what the Settlers Irrigation District and NMID water schedules look like each spring.
What Is Included in a Spring Sprinkler Turn On
"Scheduled a spring turn-on and they caught two broken heads I didn't even know about. Saved my lawn and saved me from a big repair bill later."
A professional spring sprinkler startup is more than just flipping a switch. The main shutoff has to be opened slowly — a fast open causes water hammer, which is a sudden pressure spike that can crack PVC fittings, split lateral lines, and blow apart unions. We pressurize the system gradually so there is no shock to the pipes.
From there we run every zone individually and watch it. We are looking for cracked heads, low-pressure zones, rotors that are not turning, heads that are not popping up, and obvious leaks. Anything we find gets documented and quoted before we do anything.
- Slow main shutoff pressurization — no water hammer
- Zone-by-zone run and visual inspection
- Freeze damage check on heads, valves, and fittings
- Backflow device inspection
- System pressure verification
- Controller spring programming
- Report on all findings before any repairs start
- Same-visit repairs on common items (heads, diaphragms)
Freeze Damage Found During Spring Startups
"They found freeze damage on two of my valves during the spring startup. Fixed it same day. I would have had two dead zones all summer if they hadn't caught it."
After an Idaho winter, freeze damage is common — especially on systems where the blowout was skipped or done with an underpowered compressor. Water that stayed in the pipes expands when it freezes and the damage does not always show until you run the zone in spring.
The most common things we find during a spring sprinkler startup: cracked or shattered heads, split valve diaphragms that leave zones stuck on or not opening, cracked backflow preventer bodies, and broken PVC fittings at the manifold or zone risers. Most of these are fixable on the spot. A cracked head swap takes minutes. If you skipped the fall blowout, a thorough spring startup is your chance to find out what winter did before it becomes an emergency mid-summer.
When to Turn On Sprinklers in the Treasure Valley
The window for spring sprinkler startup in the Treasure Valley runs mid-March through mid-April depending on your water source and overnight temperatures. Do not turn on your system before your water source is available or before nights are staying above freezing.
- City of Nampa pressure irrigation — typically turns on early to mid April. Watch the City's annual announcement.
- City of Boise pressure irrigation — generally starts around April 15 each year.
- Settlers Irrigation District — serves parts of Meridian and Eagle, typically opens in early April.
- NMID (Nampa-Meridian Irrigation District) — canal delivery starts in April depending on snowpack and canal conditions.
- Potable / domestic water systems — can be turned on whenever overnight temps are reliably above freezing, often late March.
Not sure which system feeds your sprinklers? We can identify it during the startup visit.
Spring Turn On Across Every Treasure Valley City
We do spring sprinkler startups in Nampa, Boise, Meridian, Caldwell, Eagle, Kuna, Star, and Middleton. Every city has slightly different pressure irrigation timing and different common system types. Boise and Nampa homes on city pressure irrigation run on a different schedule than Caldwell or Middleton homes on canal district water, and private well-fed systems in Kuna and Star have their own considerations. We know all of them.
